What we did for NAB
- Created operational models, project management tools including Gantt charts to measure staff utilisation and progress tracking in order to report and optimise processes and capacity utilisation over peak period.
- Redesigned 26 bespoke spreadsheets used across the entire portfolio of businesses to drive consistency in driver-based planning and forecasting.
- This enabled a driver based rolling forecast capability that could be aggregate into Hyperion which served purely as a data storage for the budgets.
- The value created was a more frequent rolling forecast which reduced the budget cycles dramatically whilst getting more accuracy in the forecasting.
- The reduced time enabled an enhancement to the business partnering relationships and value creating activities of Finance.
- Developed numerous reporting, pricing and valuation models including an unlisted equity valuation model, daily trading desk performance model and numerous multi currency product and markets models.
- Conducted an in-house significant spreadsheet review under NAB’s compliance with the group’s policy on risk management of spreadsheets and models. The review also involved setting up reporting to identify in future areas of focus and remediation.
